A group of almost two dozen liberal Democrats have signed a letter to House Speaker John Boehner asking him to postpone Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s address to a joint meeting of Congress next month.
Netanyahu’s speech is controversial because it comes as the Obama administration is negotiating with Iran over that country’s nuclear program and just two weeks before Netanyahu faces voters for re-election.
Republicans are pushing tougher sanctions on Tehran. Boehner did not consult with the White House before inviting Netanyahu.
The Democrats say that Boehner “appears to be using a foreign leader as a political tool.”
The letter was written by Democratic Reps. Keith Ellison of Minnesota, Steve Cohen of Tennessee and Maxine Waters of California and was signed by 20 other Democrats.

‘Boehner “appears to be using a foreign leader as a political tool.”’
It is surprising that Netanyahu has allowed himself to be manipulated by a politician with a 29% favorability rating according to the latest Rasmussen poll. (And Rasmussen historically has a Republican bias).
this is truly the theater of the absurd. The Prime Ministaer of Israel believes that there is an imminent threat to his country and achenu from this “deal” which is being spearheaded by the President. This is not politics this is a serious existential threat to the very existence of the state. If you believe the experts who are of the same view should the PM, not move heaven and earth an try to reverse this runaway train? As an aside the US president is the so called leader of the free world. he shoyuld be above personal slights if he was a true statesman.
