In a televised news conference held in the Ramada Hotel in Yerushalayim, former Shas leader Eli Yishai stood in front of banners “The nation is with us” as he officially announced the launch of his new party. The name of the party is to be announced.
Yishai explained that he did much soul searching until finally reaching the decision to begin on his new path, a decision that did not come easily. “One leaves a party but one does not leave a derech”, a path. “The party will follow the path of Maran” he exclaimed, the path of Maran HaGaon HaRav Ovadia Yosef ZT”L.
Yishai stated “it is time to take down the barriers between the frum and non-religious, the Ashkenazim and Sephardim as the nation seeks social justice and to concern ourselves with the poor”.
Yishai adds “Gedolei Yisrael” have endorsed his decision, led first and foremost by Rosh Yeshivat Kisei Rachamim HaGaon HaRav Meir Mazuz Shlita.
The media conference was a solo event and Yoni Chetboun, who is believed to have signed to become a senior player in the new party, did not appear in front of the cameras.

i wish them much hatzlacha, i used to think that deri was a talmid chacham that could bridge all divides, however i was proved wrong right away
Eli yishai tried to make it like a brake away from shas he tried to take some mk’s from shas with him and he failed and he tried to take with a rav from shas rabbi Ba’adani and he failed so he left shas himself and starting a new party with new people and new rabonim so it will be harder for him then people thought.
