Following the Shabbos stabbing of Belzer chossid Shiya Malik, 31, as he walked to shul on Shabbos, officials there are growing fears in Israel and in Antwerp that additional attacks against Jews in that country may follow. The attack occurred in the Jewish Quarter of Belgium. B’chasdei Hashem Shiya is not in life-threatening condition. He spoke with Kol Berama Radio on Sunday morning 23 Marcheshvan.
At the time of this report, local police have not labeled the attack a hate crime. The investigation continues. Malik described his attacker’s look as “European” and not “Mid-Eastern”.
