Is the IDF Lying About False Alarms in S. Israel?

kasSirens sounded in an Eshkol Regional Council community of southern Israel on Monday 26 Tishrei. Sirens sounded in a number of communities in the south on Sunday. The IDF reported in all cases the sirens were a false alarm triggered by malfunction or over sensitive sensors.

Major (reserves) Ran Levy however insists this is not so and that rockets were indeed fired in some case. Levy is active with an organization that represents southern residents and seeks to protect their rights.

He announced that as an officer serving in the Homefront Command and a resident of Ashkelon, there has never been a false alarm. He explains a launch is required to trigger an alarm and the system them calculates the rocket’s path and area of impact. He accuses the IDF of hiding the truth from the tzibur towards advancing a political agenda. He warns that Hamas’ agenda remain the same and the terrorists are busy preparing for the next armed conflict with Israel. He believes that it may have gone as far as the prime minister or defense minister actually instructing officials to announce rocket launches as false alarms for obvious reasons.

He insists that just like there were no false alarms during Operation Protective Edge, there are no false alarms today and wants residents to understand if an alarm is sounded a rocket launch has been detected.

  1. False alarms are not what most people think…

Rockets that are fired and land in non-populated areas are not suppose to have any warning sirens. If the sirens go off then they are classified as false alarms.

Everyone in the South knows the truth… Some are audio and some visual.
