Yitzhar Resident Was Giving Out Soda to Soldiers


cokeIt has been close to two weeks since a company of border policemen moved into a Yishuv Yitzhar yeshiva building, searching for suspects in a vandalism attack against an IDF outpost adjacent to the community.

On erev the 7th day of Pesach, Jerusalem Magistrate Court Justice Eitan Kornhauser ordered the release of a community resident who allegedly was involved in that attack. The court rejected a police request to extend his remand for five additional days.

The youth was picked out of a photo lineup, connecting him to the attack. The youth however explained that he was not attacking any outpost but in actuality, he was among those distributing soda and snacks to soldiers. Honenu attorney Erez Bar-Tzvi is representing the suspect. He points out his client has no criminal record and he was not involved in the attack at the outpost.
