Anyone walking in the capital in the area of the Cords Bridge, Central Bus Station or Shuk Machane Yehuda this morning, Sunday, 1 Rosh Chodesh Adar II 5774 can see police beginning to scatter around the capital. The city will begin shutting down around noontime. The central bus station will close at 14:00, and public transportation will be limited as the tens and hundreds of thousands will be making their way to the Million Man Atzeres.
Organizers stress this is not a “protest” but an “atzeres tefilla” and rabbonim shlita are calling for participants to act accordingly and distance themselves from any efforts to provoke violence.
The event will begin at 16:15 with tefillas mincha led by HaRav Shlomo Zalman Brilliant, a member of the Boyaner Chassidic Court. Then the tzibur will begin reciting he Tehillim, led by HaGaon HaRav Baruch Mordechai Ezrachi Shlita, HaGaon HaRav Shmuel Yaakov Bornstein Shlita, HaGaon HaRav Reuven Elbaz Shlita and HaGaon HaRav David Batzri Shlita.
The perakim to be recited are; 79, 80, 137, 55, 51, 90, 89, 95, 107, 96 and 86 (עט, פ, קלז, נה, נא, צ, פט, צה, קז, צו, פו).
The recitation of Tehillim will be followed by Tefillas HaShlah HaKodosh, followed by Slichos ( ישראל נושע בד’ תשועת עולמים), davening for rain, Yud Gimmel Midos, Aneinu Avinu Aneinu culminating at 18:00 with Shema Yisrael and Kabolas Ohl Malchus Shomayim.
