Massive Dinner In Mexico To Highlight Historic Torah Renaissance In North America

The word “historic” is often thrown around loosely, but sometimes an event takes place that is truly deserving of the moniker “historical event”, and the upcoming dinner of Mosdos Derech Emes is truly one such event hat, on many levels, will be remembered in the annals of history.

The event will be celebrating the opening of a new girls High School, a new boys Yeshiva Ketana, as well as a new Ashkenazic Kollel in Mexico, named after the Gadol Hador, Maran Rav Ahron Leib Steinman Zatzal, that will give a boost to the entire Jewish community in Mexico, which includes many Sephardic and Ashkenazic families from many backgrounds. Though Mexico’s Jews have been predominantly Sephardic over the millennia, a large and significant segment of the population is now comprised of families from Ashkenazic backgrounds, and they include many Talmidei Chachamim and Bnei Torah who are poised to be at the helm of nothing less than a Torah revolution that will spread throughout the country.

This new initiative, to expand and bolster the Ashenazic Bnei Torah, which also has the support and encouragement of their Sephardic brethren and Rabbanim of Mexico, was started a mere 7 years ago upon the visit of Rav Steinman Zatzal to be Mechazek the Yidden of Mexico, and has been picking up steam steadily ever since that momentous visit. Rav Steinman literally breathed new life into the Kehila and its renaissance is a worthy part of his eternal legacy.

Approximately 100 distinguished Rabbanim, from around the world, will be gracing the huge dais at the event, representing Torah communities around the globe coming together to support the mission of Mosdos Derech Emes and proclaim their involvement in its growth for all to see.

This event is a celebration of the past as well as a declaration of a strong future of Torah and Yiddishkeit in Mexico in a strong and flourishing way. This initiative is a declaration of Achdus, unity, from across the entire spectrum of Mexico, as well as the entire South America and beyond, that Mexico can and will once again be a country that reverberates with the sounds of Torah and the echoes of Mitzvos and Yiddishkeit without compromise.

Some of the Rabbanim that will grace the event with their presence include (in no specific order) Harav Avraham Shebut, Rosh Mosdos Keter Torah; Harav Dovid Schweke, Rosh Mosdos Aram Tovah; Harav Shlomo Tawil, Rav of Kehilas Magen David; Harav Avraham Tobal, Rav of Kehilas Mt.
