In response to the renewed cross-border fire from Gaza into southern Israel, the IDF attacked terrorists in Gaza, objectives affiliated with Hamas. At least ten terrorists were injured, of which two were killed.
A senior security establishment official is quoted anonymously telling Walla News on Shabbos that “Hamas is playing a dangerous game as Israel views renewed rocket fire from Gaza as very serious. Hamas must weigh its actions very carefully before continuing or alternatively, it will act to prevent the rocket fire”.
The rocket attack did cause damage and according to a United Hatzalah report, a number of people were transported to Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon for treatment of hysteria resulting from the attack. A hospital spokesman reported on motzei Shabbos that a 52-year-old woman treated for hysteria from that attack remains in ‘stable’ condition in the emergency room.
