Magen David Adom received a call for an explosion in a building at 70 Yeffet Street in the Jaffa area of Tel Aviv at 11:15pm Monday night, the eve of 10 Kislev. It was learned that LP gas cylinders exploded, leading to a major fire and the collapse of the building adjacent to the building support store where the blast occurred. Three people were killed, and others injured. The third fatality, a badly-burned individual, was pronounced dead later in Wolfson Hospital in Holon. The cause of the blast is under investigation.
United Hatzalah also responded to provide EMS care to the injured. United Hatzalah volunteer Benny Mizrachi reported from the scene: “I together with other United Hatzalah volunteers arrived here at Yeffet Street where a building is burning and numerous people are trapped inside. We are currently awaiting the okay from the Fire and Rescue crews at the scene who are working to evacuate those trapped inside to begin treating those who need medical attention as quickly as possible.”
