With the assistance of IDF Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), 20,000 lulavim were transferred from Hamas-controlled Gaza for sale in Israel ahead of Sukkos. The Agriculture Ministry also gave its stamp of approval to permit importing the lulavim.
The transfer was carried out via the Kerem Shalom Crossing between Gaza and southern Israel. For many, it is ironic to think that thousands of Jews will make a bracha on a lulav originating in Gaza. Nevertheless, it is reality and a part of the economic realities that exist, as is the fact that 800 trucks daily carry goods from Israel to Gaza to supply the needs of Gazans who rely on trucks from Israel for their existence.

i hope the mochrim have the mentchlichkeit to tell potential buyers where the lulav was grown. to me, being planted near an ashairah would be a bigger maaleh than just being planted in gaza. of course, the money will help fund the killing of jews. i think any rabbi of stature should asser such lulavim and put the mochrim under a cherem.
