Ministers of the Bayit Yehudi party protested, demanding the government keep its promise to the residents of the former Shomron community of Migron, which was evacuated five years ago. Migron residents decided not to resist court-ordered removal amid a promise from the government their community and homes would be rebuilt elsewhere. Now, five years later, this is yet to occur.
Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked was out protesting Sunday, 12 Elul, alongside the former Migron residents. She promised her party will do everything possible to compel the prime minister to move ahead towards the rebuilding of the community that was once located in the Binyamin Regional Council, in proximity of Psagot.
Also present was Minister of Agriculture Uri Ariel, calling on PM Netanyahu to rebuild Migron for the sake of the young children. The children and their parents protested in Jerusalem while the cabinet was in session, sending the message these children are still without a school despite the beginning of the 5778 school year.
