A Jerusalem police spokesman’s report stated there was continuing Arab violence during the night in the Silwan area as well as Issawiya. The violence on the night of 24 Tammuz (Monday to Tuesday) surrounds Muslim objections to the placement of metal detectors on Har Habayis.
In Silwan, rocks and firebombs were hurled at police and border police in a number of locations. One officer sustained light injuries as a result of being hit in a leg with a rock. He was transported to a local hospital. In addition, a police vehicle was damaged.
In Issawiya, firebombs were hurled along with large fireworks. B’chasdei Hashem there were no injuries. Two arrests were made.
