Speaking with Ynet on Monday, 19 Iyar, Justice Minister (Bayit Yehudi) Ayelet Shaked explained the during the upcoming visit to Jerusalem by US President Donald Trump, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu must explain there will not be a State of Palestine in the pre-1967 borders. She stated the difference between Israel and the PA (Palestinian Authority) are too significant and therefore, there is no chance of a diplomatic agreement in the near future.
Shaked feels Trump is the type of president who will be willing to hear of solution that including thinking out of the box, and that she feels would include perusing major economic cooperation agreement with neighboring Arab nations. Shaked feels there is much to do in the region and the neighboring Arab states other than to become deadlocked with the PA.
Shaked added that for as long as there are no preconditions, Bayit Yehudi does not object to PM Netanyahu meeting with PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) to jumpstart diplomatic talks.
