As first reported by YWN on Wednesday, a wind-driven fire destroyed 27 bungalows in Fallsburg.
The fire started at around 2:00PM and quickly engulfed multiple bungalows at Riverside and Krula Camp – located on Route 42 in Fallsburg, near Gamble Road.
Now, YWN has obtained footage from security cameras at Krula Camp which shows the fire starting. Summer residents at Krula tell YWN that the footage shows that the blaze definitely began at Riverside, and spread to Krula which is separated by a small fence. It appears to have been started by brush.
About 300 firefighters from 39 companies in Sullivan, Orange, Ulster and Delaware counties responded.
As of late Thursday, fire officials had not yet established the cause of the brush fire that ignited the buildings at the colonies, and they could not say exactly where the blaze started. One possibility investigators were looking at, was an electric pole in Riverside that may have caught fire.
Three firefighters were injured and treated, according to Sullivan County Public Safety Commissioner Rick Sauer: two for heat exhaustion and smoke inhalation, one for an arm injury.

If you pay attention to the video well including the smoke at the corners of the camera and direction of where the wind is blowing, the video shows exactly the opposite. The fire and smoke are moving from Krula towards Riversite.
