Most Residents of Betar Illit are Children and Youths

classrAccording to Betar Illit City Hall, there are 23,000 students in the city’s schools. There are over 100 new classrooms, kindergartens and daycare centers alongside 20 yeshivos and 12 high schools (seminaries).

The city reports that 60% of the residents of the city are children and youths. Mayor Meir Rubinstein told Kikar Shabbos “We are grateful to HKBH regarding the opening of the new school year amid the realization the educational institutions are organized and most are located in permanent buildings. It is an awesome challenge when 60% of the city’s residents are children and youths. We are in the midst of major building of additional educational institutions. We are monitoring this carefully to avoid problems”.

  1. Yes, it’s just beautiful to walk the streets here and see ka”h so many new soldiers in the Am HaShem all trekking to their chadorim and batei sefer in the early morning hours! Pass by their buildings and hear their davening and learning – it’s mammish Gan Eden! Kain Ayin Horah! Kane Yirbu! (23,000 is not quite 6 million yet!!)

  2. Those ‘in charge’ have a superb policy.

Let the charedim be ones wearing themselves thin raising ’em
when they get old enough,we’ll take ’em

    (by hook or by crook)
