SHOCKING AUDIO: Bill Clinton On Sept. 10, 2001: ‘I Could Have Killed’ Bin Laden

Ten hours before the first plane hit the World Trade Center in New York City on September 11, 2001, Bill Clinton allegedly told a group of businessmen in Australia that he had a chance to kill Osama Bin Laden, but passed because it would have meant killing hundreds of innocent civilians. That’s according to never-before-released audio of remarks made public by Australian media on Wednesday.

On September 10, 2001, Clinton was speaking to a group of about 30 businessmen in Melbourne, including Michael Kroger, the former head of the Liberal Party in the Australian state of Victoria. The event was recorded with the former president’s permission, according to Kroger, but the audio never released — until Wednesday night, when Kroger appeared on Sky News with host Paul Murray to unveil it. Kroger said he had forgotten about the recording until last week.

At the event in Melbourne, which took place not long after the end of Clinton’s term in office, the former president was asked about international terrorism.

“And I’m just saying, you know, if I were Osama bin Laden — he’s very smart guy, I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about him — and I nearly got him once,” Clinton is heard saying. “I nearly got him. And I could have killed him, but I would have to destroy a little town called Kandahar in Afghanistan and kill 300 innocent women and children, and then I would have been no better than him. And so I didn’t do it.”

  1. JUST KEEP IN MIND: I am not sure of the details, but the US was offered bin-laden “on a silver platter” and one point. I’m almost sure that this case of destroying Kandahar was not the same time.
He’s dead now so all this is useless.

  2. Hindsight is 20/20. Now that we know ehat bin ladin perpetrated its a no brainer. Back then it didn’t seem that clear. This is one thing I don’t blame him for.

  3. #1 – you forgot that many American soldiers died in Afghanistan as well as a result of his inaction.

We see what happens when you have misplaced rachamim! Hopefully, now that this audio has gone viral, his wife will show a stronger stands on this Israeli-Palestinian conflict so that she can rectify her husband’s mistake. It’s one thing to make a mistake. It’s another not to learn from it!

Like we say, ” Fool me once…”

  4. To poster #1 this has nothing to do with Gaza so why compare donkey’s to mice?

America has a great army and look how nice and peacefully They took him down once they found him and felt it was time.
The 300 hundred people exuces is just another stupid leftist liberal excuse.
Just like Obama thinks the way he’s acting will make the Muslims like the US more. Its all horrible exuces that are making us look like fools and weak.

  5. Softwords:

Don’t count on Hillary to rectify anything. You probably didn’t hear her “brilliant” words the other day about, of course Hamas is shooting from civilian areas because it’s a small place! Can’t believe she could say something so stupid!

  6. I have some doubts about the authenticity of this, as the statement “then I would have been no better than him” doesn’t fit well for September 10, 2001, as he wasn’t so famous then, and he hadn’t mostly killed civilians back then

  7. Who gave Obama the right to MURDER Osama Bin Laden? Why wasn’t he allowed to have his day in court? Obama never gave us any proof that he had the right to be the judge, jury, & executioner of Bin Laden! Did Bin Laden ever pick up a gun and personally kill an American? Where is the outrage over by the UN? What I’m getting at, is, why is Israel killing terrorists any different then Obama killing Bin Laden? There were other “innocent” people killed in that compound where Osama was hiding. No one called for war crimes against Obama over it. Why the double standard?
