There has been tragic accident on Ocean Parkway Monday morning, and the NYPD was on the scene investigating.
The accident happened around 10:00AM, at the intersection of Ocean Parkway and Ditmas Avenue. A police source tells YWN that there were four vehicles involved in the crash. A driver of one of the vehicles, a 66-year-old resident of Boro Park, was injured in the crash. He was was talking to EMS personnel when they arrived, but suddenly he reportedly went into cardiac arrest. He was rushed to Maimonides Hospital where doctors attempted to save his life. Unfortunately, their efforts were unsuccessful.
Misaskim was at the hospital ensuring Kavod Haniftar.
Traffic is being diverted in the area of the accident causing serious delays.
The NYPD’s Highway Patrol is on the scene conducting the investigation.
UPDATE: The victim has been identified as Reb Yaakov Tzvi Hoffman Z”L.

I passed by on Ditmas around 10:15 and the Highways cops appeared to be giving a bethil;izer test to a young woman on Ditmas.
BDE. R’ Yakkov Tzvi Z”L was a true ehrlicha yid & a talmud chochom. He would get up early in the morning to learn a few hours before davening, work vey hard to support his family, & in the evening he was back in Shul learning.
He was an un-assuming old time ehlicha yid.
Lets hope for besoiros tovos.
