It is no secret that since the murderous attack in Mumbai which claimed the lives of the Chabad Shluchim and other Kedoshim HY”D, security for Chabad houses in India and other locations around the world have been stepped up.
India’s Home Minister, Home Minister Palaniappan Chidambaram, announced that Saturday’s bomb attack in Pune, in proximity of the Chabad house, was indeed intended for the Chabad facility. The death toll in that attack stands at 9, with 57 others injured. B’chasdei Hashem no Jews are listed among the dead and wounded.
Pune is located 200 kilometers (120 miles) SE of Mumbai. Leaders in India, who are Hindu, are blaming neighboring Islamic Pakistan for yet another deadly attack.
Officials report the bomb was in “an unattended bag” near the German Bakery, in direct proximity of the Chabad center as well as near the Osho Ashram, a popular site. According to Home Secretary G.K. Pillai, the ashram, which is situated about 200 meters (yards) from the German Bakery was observed by David Headley, an American linked to the Mumbai attack, now on trial for his actions. According to Minister Chidambaram, Headley also observed the Chabad center near the bakery.
The minister stated the terrorist targeted both, the ashram and Chabad house, explaining a shopper at the bakery left the bag containing the explosive device behind.
While details of the bomb used are not being released at this time, officials are indicating it was quite powerful, sending splatters of blood and limbs in the area, the first attack since the November 2008 Mumbai attack which left 166 dead.

the shiluchim from lubavitch deserve much credit for their avodas hakodesh and mesiras nefesh in the far reaches of the world. i feel however , they should not put themselves into overt harms way and get out of those areas where they may be targeted as was the unfortunate experiance in mumbai.
so we’re basically in an all out war with the entire world and our only allies want us dead just a tiny bit less than our worst enemies. i think moshiach’s probably in a jail somewhere for walking down the street minding his own business.
