Uman Is Now A Sushi Opportunity As Well

nach.jpgBoth the secular and chareidi press are reporting on this year’s Breslov happening in Uman, which now, for a first time, includes sushi.

Israel Airport Authority officials reported 22 flights departed from Tel Aviv for Uman on Tuesday, carrying over 3,300 travelers. Over 40 additional flights will take off today, Wednesday, and on Thursday, and they will bring along over hundreds of tons of kosher food.

Chareidim reports that a minhag that began last year, the distribution of food, is continuing this year, but in addition to chulent and kugel, there will be sushi and other ‘higher-end’ food items prepared by five chefs who were flown in from the United States.

  1. justajew – if you can understand how many chsidim leave their families for hundreds of years, you might be able to understand this too. If a husband would have a very good business deal that would keep him out of town over Rosh Hashana what would his wife say? The chasidim feel that there is much more profit that is gained.

  2. ya know, its funny… as having family that goes to uman and knowing many others as well that stay behind when their husbands go- its never those that “are left alone” that feel the way #4 proposes that it feels like- apart. Everyone does things that they feel bring them closer to Hashem and teshuva. We dont put down those that look like they dont learn much and only give tzedakah, just as an example, because we understand that each person serves Hashem through the channels that work best for them. We dont pass judgment on how others kindel their connection, its a private matter between each ind and Hashem. All those that believe that the experience strengthens themselves and their families, feel privileged to do their part. Only those who dont even know the experience need to comment and look at the possible downside, like those learners who think they should put down “amei ha’aretz” who only give money and dont “do something themselves”. #4, you dont sound like you are talking from experience, unless like many other people in this world, you like to see things as “half empty”. Its erev RH, and klal yisrael needs all the defense it can possibly get, so dont put yidden down if you dont have to. so this is not your path, doesnt mean it shouldnt be others’…

  3. All of these things are distractions!!!!!!!! Forget traveling hundreds of miles…forget the sushi…..JUST DO TESHUVA!!!!!!!!!!!!!It is very simple. Do a cheshbon Hanefesh…reflect upon last year…think of all of the people you need to apologize to…daven…cry…have Kavanah…take Kabbalos…and all of these things can be done in your local Orthodox synogouge…UNBELIEVABLE!!!

  4. So Mr right again
u can just daven in your living room after all your surroundings don’t make a difference and if you don’t get that shtender that you wanted I’m sure it will also b fine after all you will b doing teshuvah
If you can just imagine for a second saying amen yehei shmei rabbah with 5000 or more people the thought is simply mind boggling such a tefilah must penetrate the heavens to the kisay hakovod through the power of a tzibbur as we say berov am hadras melech being mikabel hashem as our king with an army of people how can such a teffilah go unanswered
It is my sincere blessing on all the YW readers and all of klall yisroel that our tefiilos be excepted by the almighty and may we all b blessed with a good and sweet year
