NY Transit: Subway System Is Safe To Ride

subNew York’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority says there’s no indication the Ebola patient was contagious when he rode the subway.

The MTA also said Friday there were “no reports of bodily fluids on any of the subway lines he rode.”

The agency says it has updated its protocols on the advice of health experts.

Workers get protective equipment and training to remove potentially harmful waste and safely dispose of it.

Employees are issued special gloves. They also use 10 percent bleach solution for disinfection. And they double-bag any potentially infectious waste.

A bus or train car would be isolated so no other customers can enter.
