4:30PM (Monday): An unfortunate situation is unfolding at a summer resort on Kaufman Road in Monticello, and Inspectors are preparing to close the place down.
Highly credible sources tell YWN Catskills that a construction worker was walking between two units and fell into a trench, early Monday afternoon. He was attempting to climb out, when the trench collapsed around him, pinning him inside. The Monticello Fire Department was called, and a rescue operation was conducted, and the victim eventually removed.
The Town Of Thompson Building Department was subsequently notified of the incident, and an inspector was dispatched to the scene. Shortly after, they realized that the resort was operating without a proper Certificate Of Occupancy (CEO). The Inspector is currently on the scene, and preparing to shut the entire colony down.
Sullivan County Sheriff Deputies have been dispatched to the scene to keep the peace.
