FIRST REPORT: YWN regrets to inform you of the Petira of Evelyn Kozak, (Chava Rivka) early this morning at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn. At the age of nearly 114, she had the zechus of being the oldest known Jew in the world.
A grandchild spoke to YWN and asked us to publicize the Levaya details, in the hopes that as many people as possible will come and show kavod for this incredible woman.
The Levaya will be held today (Tuesday) at 12:30, at Shomrei Hachomos, 4218 Hamilton Parkway. She will be buried in Queens.
On Monday YWN had posted a Tehillim request for Mrs. Kozak, after she had suffered a heart attack, and was listed in critical condition.
Evelyn Kozak was the world’s oldest living Jewish person, and the seventh-oldest living person in the world. She was an American supercentenarian who resided in Brooklyn, and would have turned 114 in August.

I attended the Levaya and the burial.
The burial which was changed to Washington cemetery in Brooklyn (Bay Parkway and McDonald Ave) in a Chabad Section. Her parents and her Grandparents are buried there.
Originaly they thought that there is no place, but they found one empty spot which happened to be at the foot of her Grandmother, and next to her uncle (her mother’s brother who died in 1934)
