YWN regrets to inform you of the Petira of Harav Dov Schwartzman ZATZAL, Rosh HaYeshivah Bais HaTalmud in Yerushalaim.
Rav Schwartzman was the father of Rav Yaakov Eliezer Shlita, who is the eldest grandson of Hagoan Rav Aaron Kotler ZATZAL, and is presently the Rosh Yeshiva of Lakewood East in Yerushalayim; of Rav Zevulun Shlita, who heads a kollel located in the Etz Chaim Yeshiva in Yerushalayim; and of Rav Isser Zalman of Bnei Brak.
His daughters are Rebbitzen Shalva Olshin (wife of Rav Yeruchim Olshin – Lakewood Rosh Yeshiva); Rebbitzen Eta Neuman (wife of Rav Yisroel Neuman – Lakewood Rosh Yeshiva); and Rebbitzen Miriam Jurkanski (wife of Rav Avrohom Jurkanski, R”M – Lakewood Yeshiva).

At the time of his Petira, he was married to a woman who had borne him six other children, besides the six from the first wife. Very strange not to mention the Almana and the other six children.
The journalist could also have mentioned that Rav Schwartzman was a Talmid of Chevron in Eretz Yisroel and that he founded the Yeshiva of Philadelphia together with Rav Shmuel Kamenetzky.
I once witnessed as he reviewed all of Bava Kama, all of Bava Metzia and half of Bava Basra in less than 90 minutes!!!

He was also the founder, along with ybl”c, HaRav Shmuel Kaminetsky, the Philadelphia Yeshiva. Rav Svei z”l came only after Rav Dov z”l moved to Eretz Yisroel.
