New Volume Of Igros Moshe Released

After many years, a brand new volume in the famous Igros Moshe series by Hagon Harav Moshe Feinstein zt”l, has been released. This volume includes responsa on all four chalakim of Shulchan Aruch, as well as a section on Kodashim and Taharos, and NEW to this series, a section of “Igros Hashkafah”. An important addition to the library of every Torah Jew!

The monumental (now) nine-volume set contains the collected letters of Hagon Rav Moshe Feinstein ZATZAL, one of the greatest and most well-respected halachic authorities of the 20th century. These letters offered detailed responses to questions of halacha that he had been asked.

Studied by Jews around the world, these “responsa” letters (as they are known) offer a glimpse into the deep understanding of a master of Jewish law, Talmud and Tanach.

  1. Wasn’t there a lot of controversy on a previously posthumously released volume, with some holding either Rav Moshe wouldn’t approve publishing certain teshuvos as well as other concerns?

  2. In the front there’s a letter signed by both of his sons and his son in law Tendler saying that the superflous to say that everything is printed in HGRM’s own words and that he intended to print them.

  4. The 9th volume of the Igros Moshe just came out. In the very first teshuva of this volume Rav Moshe says that it is important that eveyone follow the view of the Magen Avraham and that if the local minyan doesn’t one should find a minyan that does. The problem is that there are two teshovs in earlier volumes where Rav Moshe clearly says that the halacha is in accord with the Gra and the Baal HaTanya and that the Magen Avraham is a chumra of a minority. I don’t know how to resolve this. The editors of the new volume obviously were aware of this problem as they themselves say to look at the two older teshuvos. (post from R. D. Eidensohn.)
