The Chief Rabbinate of Israel on Tuesday took a bold step in the right direction; officially breaking ties with the Vatican in response to the last week’s decision by Pope Benedict XVI decided to grant a pardon to Holocaust-denying bishop, Richard Williamson (as reported HERE on YWN).
According to the bishop, he has gathered evidence that “strongly questions if 6 million Jews were gassed”.
The Chief Rabbinate sent an official letter to the Vatican, explaining the decision and added without a formal apology from the Vatican, a continued relationship does not appear possible.

Wonderful! This was a true act of courage. And the Pope wanted to visit Israel? Don’t make me laugh!!
Holocaust deniers and their enablers must be fought. As time marches on and that heroic generation passes on,it becomes our responsibility to confront these deniers at every step.
This same Pope Y’S was welcomed by Rabbi Arthur Schnier at the Park East Synagogue to the dismay of many in the “spirit” of “friendship”.
Kol Hakovod to the Chief Rabbinate for doing the right thing.
