The Muszhier Rov ZATZAL from Flatbush was Niftar this morning in Eretz Yisroel. He was R”L very sick, and had requested to be Niftar in Eretz Yisroel. He was brought there last week by the Misaskim organization – in what was a very difficult transport. There will be a live hook-up at 9:00AM EST at the Ropshitz Bais Medrash at 19th Avenue and 53rd Street.

what a great loss he was a huge talmid chacham and a very nice man
ברוך דייו אמת
Baruch dayan haemes! He was a tremendous tzadik. He escaped the war in the middle of his sheva brachos, came to America and didnt move one iota from the ways of his forefathers. He was a Huge talmid chacham And a real chasidisha rebbe. He was also a nephew of the satmar rav. May he be a meilitz yosher for all of klal yisroel.
A great tzaddik. A great loss. Mee yiten temuroso. Boruch Dayan Ho’emmes
Please post his name. I never heard of this Rov. I think when making posts about rebbes or rabbonim, one should also post their names not just their titles. Not everyone automatically knows who so and so Rebbe or Rov is.
basmelech,
Many Rebbes are reknown by their titles alone. i.e. the Satmar Rebbe, the Bobover Rebbe, etc. No ‘further ‘naming” is needed, and indeed would be redundant.
This is such an example.
could anyone share any information on this misaskim organization, who they are and what they do.
The Rebbe was a window for us to the previous generations. Chaval al di, deovdon.
Zechusoi yogein aleinu.
Goodwork Misaskim, almost like Nefeshbnefesh, there are those who come to the holyland to live and those who come to be buried.
The Rebbe made a request that he wishes to die in Eretz Yisroel. Last week it was clear that the end was near, and the family contacted Rabbi Yanky Meyer of Misaskim to arrange that he be transferred to EY.
Three Doctors were flown in from Israel for the trip, and the rebbe was taken from Columbia to the airport. The ambulance (East Midwood Volunteer) was allowed to pull up directly to the plane, where the rebbe was carried up via the service lift. A large section of the plane was cleared for the rebbe, the machinery, and the doctors accompanying him.
basmelech,
In other words Joseph doesn’t know his name.
Joseph – I’m so glad that you knew who he was, now will someone enlighten me? I think perhaps the Satmar Rebbe ZT”L was more well known.
ploinder, speak not to which to you do not know.
basmelech, If I mentionined his name it would mean less to you than his title.
basmelech, no need to appologize,
there are people who don’t know satmer rebbes name either.
and p.s. a little biography would be nice too!
Rabbi Rubin was his name
#13, Exactly. Like the Chofetz Chaim. How many people know that the Chofetz Chaim’s name is Rabbi Yisrael Meir Kagan? Most people do not.
People, generally, just know him, and call him, by the greatness of his title, the Chofetz Chaim.
He was the Satmar Rov’s nephew thru marriage. His brothers are the Sasregener & Sulitzer. His Rebbetzin wrote a book about their lives, published by Artscroll.
Himmelstein,
You ruined the suspense.
His name was Reb Menachem Mendel Rubin. He had a shul on Ocean Pkwy bet N & O – one of the first shteeblach in Flatbush. His Rebbetzin a’h, a niece of the Satmar Rebbe, wrote a fascinating book for Artscroll titled “The Final Solution Is Life, A Chassidic Dyansty’s Story of Survival and Rebuilding” about their’s and the Satmar Rebbe’s escape from the Nazi’s y’s.
His father was R’ Yaakov Yisroel V’Yishurin Rubin of Sasregen HY”D (1884-1944 murdered in Aushwitz with his Rebbetzin) scion of Ropshitz, ben acher ben from Reb Asher Yeshaya Rubin of Ropshitz, the son-in-law of Reb Naftal Tzvi Horowitz of Ropshitz. He wrote hagaos on Shulchon Aruch. lh’b’ch’lch One of the Muzaiers brothers has the Sulitzer Shul in Far Rockaway, NY. Another brother is the Rov of Khal Sasregen in Midwood .
his name was harav menachem mendel ben harav yanov yisroel yshirin rubin zatzal
He was the Sasregener Rebbe’s (Rabbi Rubin from 24th L & M) brother, and the Brizdovitzer’s (from B.P.) uncle.
His shul was on Ocean Parkway. I believe his grandson has taken over.
he was a nephew from the Satmar Rabbe the Baal Divrei Yoel Zy”u. the last time i saw him was by the Chasina from the son of Hgh”tz Avad Satmar-Williamsburg Shlita, the son of C”K Admor M’Satmar Shlita was taken place in the big Satmara ‘WONDER’ Shul on Hooper St. he had alot of Yerisha stuff from the Satmar Rabbe Ztz”l. (i think he had the Rabeiny Taam’s Tefilan). he said a nice Hasped on his uncle at the Leveiya (everyone still remembers the song. Kminhag Rupshitz) anyways, Zechisoi Yugain Uleiny!
Is there a special zchus to passing away in E”Y?
We are well aware of the special zchus of being buried in E”Y.
Is there an inyan to pass away in E”Y also?
I forget which Rebbe was asked in this case, but whomever it was told the Muzhayer that if he can’t fly to Eretz Yisroel while alive, he shouldn’t go there in a box.
As he wanted to be buried there, arrangements were made to fly him…
ita brought down in seforim from the ariza”l, that if a person doesn’t die in eretz yisroel but he’s brought there afterwards, the ones that died there, scream at him, “where were you untill now, you just came here to be metameh the land”!!
This is a big loss for Satmar chassidim in one week, first the oldest Satmar chassid Reb Nosson Weiss Z”L passed away at the age of 102 and now the nephew of the Baal divrei Yoel Z”L passed away, S’hnishma V’nisbaser B’soros T’ovos Amen.
