The official Siyum HaShas Bavli in Beit Shemesh is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, 27 Menachem Av 5772. The city’s chief rabbis and other rabbonim are expected to take part in the event.
The siyum will be held in the Ramat Beit Shemesh Aleph Shopping Mall and Moshe Mona Rosenblum will speak and of course perform along with the ‘wonder child’ Yankie Stern.
A delegation of rabbonim from Beit Shemesh will be visiting gedolei yisrael shlita ahead of the siyum to invite them to take part. A number of gedolei yisrael have indicated they will attend.

We have much more pressing needs in Bet Shemesh than this!
Its just 2 weeks away from the start of the new school year and one of the 2 main girls schools (Beis Yaakov) does not have any classrooms for 1st grade! And they have 3-4 classes.
The only available piece of land is being rented by a local “mosad” to a yeshiva from Elad who needs a place to go.
You might wonder, how is it possible that a private mosad is able to rent tzibur land to a different private mosad. The answer is that the renting mosad has a lot of influence (read: money, connections, power) so the local city council is overlooking the problem.
How can it be that in a “chareidi” city, a city with chareidi mayor and “gimmel” representatives, that they do NOT listen to the local rabbonim and put a stop to this?
Whats the point of having a chareidi city council, if the attitude continues to be that of Gaza strip and the wild west?
How can a local mosad ignore (to put it mildly) the local Rav? How can the local mosad give a “slap in the face” to the Rav (to put it more metaphorically)? Where do we live? Woe to us and woe to what we have become.
And this is a mosad, a kingdom or torah centers, that brings in, literally, millions a year. So its not like they are living off of the rent money, and without it, they will need to close. This is chump change for them.
